New Chip Card Launches in Turkey December 2004 BILESIM, leading company of alternative distribution channels and payment systems in Turkey, announces that the most essential project of the card world, EMV migration, has been completed for the two leader banks of the country, Ziraat Bank and Halk Bank and has become ready for liability shift deadline Jan 1, 2005. EMV certified terminals of Ziraat Bank and Halk Bank have already been activated to be used by merchants since July 2004. First EMV chip cards will be issued in January,2005. Bilesim worked with BankSoft, VeriSoft, AustriaCard, Orga, ST-InCard, NBS and DataCard as the key stakeholders of the EMV project.
